Gilbert Medal Award Ceremony

Dr Jane Knight, a leading expert on internationalisation in higher education has been awarded the 2013 Gilbert Medal in a private ceremony in Toronto.

Dr Jane Knight, Adjunct Professor in the Department of Leadership, Higher and Adult Education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, received the 2013 Gilbert Medal for Internationalisation on behalf of U21, in a private ceremony at the University of Toronto on 21 February.

The medal was presented by Professor Stephen Toope, President of the University of British Columbia and host of this year’s U21 Annual Presidential Meeting.

The medal is named in honour the late Professor Alan Gilbert, the founder of U21 who died in 2010, and upholds his work as a lifelong proponent of the benefits of internationalisation.  It celebrates some of the core objectives of the U21 network, increasing understanding, trust and partnership between international universities.
