The first gathering of colleagues responsible for data collation and analysis. This event will run in parallel to the annual Researcher Engagement Cluster meeting for Research Leaders and Deans and Directors of Graduate Studies (DDoGS).

The purpose of this exploratory event is for U21 colleagues to come together to explore the benefits of data sharing among U21 members. The group will explore processes and structures for data sharing and work to propose a U21 data sharing strategy.

Through the workshop sessions the group will examine existing institutional metrics and data sets and explore how data sharing across our institutions could support benchmarking and enhance decision-making.  The group will be guided by best practices on data sharing and will consider the development of common data definitions across all member institutions.

The group will develop a report outlining their findings and recommendations in respect of a U21 data sharing strategy.

The structure of the meeting will take the form of an introductory presentation followed by two facilitator-led workshop sessions.

Workshop 1: Will focus on the identification of key data themes which could support institutional and network decision-making.

Workshop 2: In this session the group will explore processes, structures and strategies for data sharing.

Through the workshop sessions the group will identify key data streams with the potential to enhance the effectiveness of the existing U21 clusters and inform the future direction of the U21 network.

The group will document their findings in a short report for presentation to the U21 Provost.
