ECR Workshop: the Future of International Higher Education
The University of Nottingham Ningbo China is hosting a one-day interdisciplinary workshop on the future of international higher education, open to all academic staff and postgraduate students in the U21 network. The workshop, taking place on Saturday 1 November 2014, will be of particular interest to early career academics and PhD students, but other, more senior academics, are welcome to attend too.
The event has been organized with the aim of attracting as many participants as possible from the Asia and Australia/New Zealand regions - as well as those from elsewhere who have an interest in education in these two regions - so as to establish closer relationships between U21 members in this part of the world.
Many leading scholars expect the traditional education model to be disrupted in the near future, and this workshop will focus on three of the most widely discussed disruptive elements: interdisciplinary education, internationalization and the rise of virtual learning platforms. This workshop will begin to articulate the challenges and opportunities of Higher Education for early career researchers and more experienced colleagues across the two regions.

The workshop keynote address will be given by Professor Rui YANG from the University of Hong Kong (http://web.edu.hku.hk/staff/academic/yangrui) Further speakers have been confirmed from U21 universities in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, PR China and Hong Kong.
