End Date
09 May 2013
Location
University of British Columbia, Canada
Summary
The University of British Columbia is pleased to welcome student delegates to the first annual Universitas 21 Student Summit, to be held immediately before the Annual Network Meeting and Presidential Symposium.
About

Member universities attending the Annual Network Meeting and Presidential Symposium are invited to send students to this event, which will include networking opportunities with other student representatives of U21 member universities, and the chance to work collaboratively together to create a presentation to be made at the Presidential Symposium.

Themes For Discussion

The themes for discussion at the Student Summit will mirror the themes of discussion at the Presidential event. The overarching theme is The university’s role in creating the next generation of global leaders. Subthemes for discussion include Cognition/how we learn; The role of technology in higher education; and Building community, on campus and beyond.

The outcome of the Students Summit will take the form of a challenge, relating to the areas of discussion, which will be presented by two student delegates at the Presidential Symposium.

Survey

Student delegates and attending presidents will be surveyed in advance of the event. The survey will address the issues for discussion and gather information about delegates’ experience and opinions. The results of the survey will be anonymous and the information will guide the discussion at the Student Summit and Presidential Symposium.
