Expressions of interest are invited for the next U21 T&L Workshop, entitled Ethics and Citizenship in the Curriculum

The workshop will take place from 12 to 14 March 2012 at Tecnológico de Monterrey’s Santa Fe campus.  The workshop is aimed at practitioners and those interested in developing (or learning more about other practices) in integrating an Ethics and Citizenship programme into their own curriculum and Tecnológico de Monterrey is at the forefront of developments in this area. 

The programme will include session on the following:

Leadership of educational engagement on ethics and citizenship

  • Definition of objectives and scope
  • Definition and discusión of terms: ethical and moral, values and duties, citizen and citizenship
  • Defining “ethics and citizenship” for the institution
  • Influence of cultural differences on ethical issues
  • Ethics and citizenship education in multicultural environments

Vision and challenges for teaching ethics and citizenship at the college level

  • Example of core competencies expected on ethics and citizenship
  • Strategies for teaching ethics and citizenship
  • Instruments for evaluating achievement of competencies

Support programs for the development of ethics and citizenship in college students

  • Curricular programs
  • Co-curricular programs

Assessment of core competencies

  • Program objectives and learning outcomes
  • Assessment of ethics competencies
  • Assessment of citizenship competencies
  • Strategies for follow-up and continuous improvement

Plan implementation

  • Budget and financial aspects
  • Faculty and top administration involvement
How To Register

The workshop will be limited to around 25 participants.
