Student Experiences
The university experience here is all encompassing, from being involved in sports competitions with the most passionate student crowds you're likely to find, to going out for hall meals at 2am, to partaking in university alumni conventions in Shanghai, the HKU student lifestyle has more breadth than I have ever seen elsewhere. Furthermore there has been a fantastically inclusive atmosphere, stemming particularly from the unique hall experience, which has been extended at every opportunity to local and non-local students alike. The academic experience has also been, I feel fantastically beneficial, both in terms of the diverse education methods utilized and the distinctive curriculum compared to my home institution. The particular focus on group based learning has given an invaluable insight into working in a team environment in future life. While the emphasis on Asia related subject areas, has not only widened my perspective on my course, but also provided an intriguing first-hand insight into the continent of the 21st century.
Finally my experience here has only been enhanced by living in a
completely new and different culture, this has again provided me with
fantastic and improbable experiences that have served to broaden my
horizons. The only issue I foresee having here is how I’m going to
manage to leave! |
